Minister Inaugurates TrueBeam STX Facility At Aster MIMS

KOZHIKODE: TrueBeam STx, an advanced linear accelerator and radiosurgery treatment system in Cancer treatment, was set up at Aster MIMS, Kozhikode. labour and excise minister TP Ramakrishnan, inaugurated the facility at a function held at the hospital .

Dr Satheesh Padmanabhan, senior consultant, Department of Radiation Oncology said that with the introduction of TrueBeam STx, revolutionary changes will be witnessed in the treatment of Cancer. He said that the facility will bring better results and will end the delay in the detection of Cancer. He said that once the months-long treatment will be reduced, naturally, the expenses for the treatment also will come down. It also allows doctors to target hard-to-reach tumors,” added Dr. Satheesh.

Dr K V Gangadharan, head of the Department of Oncology, Aster MIMS presided over the function. Abdu Rahiman, Director, Aster MIMS, Dr V P Salim VP, Head of the Oncology Department and others spoke during the occasion.-Times Of India
