National Conference on Nurses Role in Hospital Infection Control

In a bid to educate the nurses from various institutions on different aspects of Hospital Infection Control and prevention strategies, Jipmer in connection with the Global Hand washing Day celebrations organized a National conference on Nurses Role in Hospital Infection Control, on October 15. According to a Jipmer release, Jipmer Director Dr Vivekanandam who inaugurated the conference, pointed out the duties and responsibilities of nurses in the infection control program in hospital especially educating all the healthcare workers on reducing the infection in the hospital and the importance of surveillance of hospital acquire infection in highly dependent units. Sessions were planned and conducted to cover various aspects of infection control like Hand Hygiene, personal protective equipment, Bio-medical waste management and surgical site infection. This facilitated the participants to train themselves, implement and augment the infection control program in their respective institutions. – United News of India
