No Need To Examine Docs Who Conducted Narco Test: HC

Kochi: The doctors who conducted the narcoanalysis test in Sister Abhaya murder case need not be examined as witnesses, the high court has directed the trial court. Justice Alexander Thomas quashed CBI special court’s order permitting examination of doctors N Krishnaveny and Praveen Parvathappa, who conducted the test, as witnesses.

The court issued the directive after considering a petition filed by Fr Thomas M Kottoor and Sr Stephy, who are accused in the case. Though they had filed a similar plea before the CBI special court, it was dismissed then.

It was contended by the accused that examination of the doctors who conducted the narcoanalysis test was not legal. The test was conducted without their permission and evidence supporting the report of the narcoanalysis test were not included in the chargesheet filed by CBI, they argued.-Times Of India
