Ch Narasimha Rao, Chairman of the Government General Hospital attached to the Medical College, said 10 operation theatres (OTs) are being readied for inauguration on Dasara festival day. He visited the hospital along with officials and Hospital Director Shamshuddin. Interacting with the media, Rao said they were improving facilities in the 750-bedded hospital for the last one year. He said there are 30 beds for ophthalmology and another 30 beds for ENT wing in the ground floor along with administration in the ground floor. There are 180 general beds in the first floor with modernised ICU wing in the first floor, he stated.
There are another 180 beds for surgery wing and ICU in the second floor and 120 beds have been allocated for orthopaedic cases in the fourth floor, he explained. Narasimha Rao said there are 10 OTs in the third floor for all departments and 60 ICU blocks in the same floor. He said there were only 4 OTs earlier and the new 10 OTs will cater to the needs of huge number of patients.
