Ashok Gehlot Inaugurates Government-Run 500-Bed Hospital in Pratap Nagar

The city will have one more government-run hospital in Pratap Nagar, which will be inaugurated by chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday. The hospital is attached to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) medical college. RUHS officials said that the hospital will have 500-bed capacity which will help the patients in getting treatment in Pratap Nagar rather than going to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, which is quite far from the place. The officials said that the hospital has sprawling premises covering 14 lakh square feet area. The building of the hospital is constructed at a cost of Rs 111 crore. In 2013-14, the then state government had announced development and expansion of RUHS in the budget speech. It had allocated land in Pratap Nagar for construction of a hospital. The state government had allocated fund of Rs 406 crore for construction of hostel, staff residential building and other works of construction including construction of new hospital in Pratap Nagar. At present, RUHS has three hospitals attached to it including a medical college, dental college and nursing college. Besides, fourth such establishment is coming up soon which is pharmacy. RUHS attached medical college has 100 MBBS seat and its fifth session is in progress. – TOI
