Bengal’s MR Bangur Hospital bags best district hospital tag

The Niti Aayog has certified MR Bangur Hospital in West Bengal’s 24 South Parganas as the best district hospital in the country for the year 2018-19.

“This tag was given for 2018-19. Various factors were considered such as bed turnover rate, OPD attendance, inpatient stay, comfort and overall management,” said Dr Sisir Naskar, Superintendent, MR Bangur Hospital.

The West Bengal health department received a letter to this effect on Monday.

The assessment was made before the Covid-19 pandemic. Factors such as different areas of medical treatment and overall patient satisfaction post-treatment were among the criteria considered for certification by the Niti Aayog.

“The assessment was made before the Covid-19 pandemic. The hospital worked towards a desired outcome. We have been able to do a lot over a period of time. The patients too are very happy as they received good treatment here,” said Dr Sisir Naskar. India Today
