Bhopal: Gamma camera installed at Gandhi Medical College

Gamma camera machine has been installed at Gandhi Medical College in the city. Gandhi Medical College is the first hospital in the state where a gamma camera machine has been installed, according to Professor Dr HU Gauri of Department of Radiation and Oncology.

She said apart from cancer, tests for thyroid, kidney and heart disease can also be taken with the machine.

According to Dr Gauri, examination of patients has been started with a gamma camera machine installed in the radiotherapy department of Gandhi Medical College.

The machine will help in bone scanning of cancer patients. This machine is available only in Government Gandhi Medical College. Apart from cancer, other diseases such as thyroid, kidney disease, heart and other diseases can also be checked. Free Press Journal
