Centre proposing private healthcare companies run hospitals abroad

The Indian authorities are considering asking private Indian healthcare companies to run hospitals overseas. These will be commercial propositions for the private players. So far, the Indian private players are being contracted to construct the facilities and provide healthcare infrastructure. Financial support is extended through a Line of Credit, a soft loan provided on concessional interest rates to the host countries, which has to be repaid by the borrowing government. This is done through specialized financial institution owned by the Government of India, like EXIM Bank.
