Centre to train doctors in systematic reviews, meta-analysis

The government has started a unique process for the prevention and proper treatment of various diseases. The committee formed under this will collect evidence-based guidelines. The committee includes experts from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Directorate General of Health Services and Department of Health Research (DHR), based in New Delhi.

Apart from this, the government has also decided that along with MBBS and PG students, doctors across the country should also be trained in systematic reviews and meta-analysis so that medical studies can be useful to them in medical management. For this, the government has first decided to organize workshops for doctors in 10 states including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to the information, a budget of around Rs 6 lakh will be allocated by ICMR for each workshop.
