Drone to Transport Organs in Hospitals; Air Corridors to be Set up: Sinha

The Government would start registration from December 1 to use drone to transport the organs from one hospital to another avoiding traffics, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said. Sinha said the facility would be solely to transport the organs and not for the delivery of goods. He said registration would be started from December 1 and expected that it would come into operation within a month. He said the day would be marked as a historic one when they with the help of the drone facility would be able to save lives and transport the organs to the needed hospital timely. The drones would transport the organs faster than the road. He said for the purpose, drone ports will be set up in hospitals from where drones can take off and land properly. Besides this, special air corridors will also be made. With these air corridors, the organs can be transported from one hospital to other within the shortest possible time. Sinha said soon after the use of the drone, they would start working on Drone 2.0. The Minister said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has constituted a drone task force which will present a framework on the Drone 2.0 by January 15, 2019. – United News of India
