Google Cloud launches AI-powered medical imaging suite

Google Cloud has announced a new AI-powered medical imaging tool designed to handle pressure from medical staff, and it’s already available for you to try.

Medical professionals have long used imaging to help them diagnose patients with a variety of diseases, but specialist training is required and the process can be time consuming. Nevertheless, it is an essential part of the diagnosis process, with images making up about 90% of all healthcare data, according to Google.

The company hopes its new Google Cloud Medical Imaging Suite(opens in new tab) tool will be able to recognize a large part of the diseases, so that medical staff can free up more time for the treatment of patients. The so-called Medical Imaging Suite will also be valuable in countries where there are few specially trained personnel.

The Google Cloud Medical Imaging Suite webpage explains how to support Nvidia and Monai integration with areas such as AI annotation, where medical personnel would otherwise usually manually label images to teach the system to identify diseases.

BigQuery and Looker are also part of the new platform, which Google says will allow its users to “view and search petabytes of image data to perform advanced analytics and create training datasets without operational overhead,” while Vertex AI access is also included to help organizations. create AI pipelines and build scalable machine learning models without extensive coding. In fact, Google claims that 80% fewer lines of code are needed for custom modeling.

In terms of secure cloud storage and regulatory compliance, the internationally recognized DICOM file format is supported for storing and transferring images, such as X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds.

So far, Google has partnered with NetApp to enable “seamless” on-premises cloud data management, Change Healthcare, and a number of other service partners.

Prices for the Medical Imaging Suite can be obtained by contacting Google Cloud for a custom quote, either via chat or by phone. The sales team was closed when we contacted, but prices vary on a case-by-case basis. NY Breaking
