Haryana issues MedTech manufacturing policy, eyes ₹3000 crore investment
The Government of Haryana on March 14, 2024, issued the Draft Haryana Medical Devices Manufacturing Policy, 2024.
The following has been stated:
Vision:
- “To transform Haryana as a global leading hub for the manufacturing of medical devices by developing a thriving ecosystem.”
Mission:
- Create a conducive environment for the manufacturing of medical devices in the State.
- Promote the ‘Make in India’ campaign by tapping into the entire value chain of the healthcare domain and reducing dependence on imports and indigenizing the manufacturing of medical devices.
- Promote continuous innovation, encouraging the development of advanced and cost-effective medical solutions, and maintaining stringent quality control.
- Fostering an ecosystem of continuous improvement and innovation.
Objectives:
- Attract investments of INR 3000 Cr. in Medical Device manufacturing.
- Create at least 20,000 employment opportunities within the state.
- Promote exports from Haryana by equipping companies with the prerequisites necessary for access to the global market.
- Foster innovation, research, and development to bridge the technological gaps in the medical device sector.
