HCI acquires Neitherlands-based Quli

Gelderland, the Netherlands-based Quli, the digital health platform, announced on Tuesday, September 5, that it has been acquired by Health Cloud Initiative (HCI).

The announcement comes a couple of months after HCI acquired Uw Zorg Online, in June 2023, to focus on supporting users together with healthcare professionals and loved ones.

The transaction is part of a buy-and-build strategy, supported by investor Vortex Capital Partners.

Quli: Supports users in personal health and care
Founded in 2013 as a social initiative by healthcare organisations, Quli (Quality of Life) is a digital platform on which people and their loved ones can collaborate with professionals and healthcare organisations.

According to the company, its platform is designed to give users more autonomy and control over their own healthcare processes.

Collaborating organisations can provide their target groups with useful additional (portal) functionalities and communication facilities. Quli is NEN 7510 certified and has the MedMij label, meaning privacy and information security are well-regulated.

With the HCI acquisition, the Dutch platform aims to continue its products and services, making them available to a broader user group.

Hans ter Brake, director at Quli says, “Quli is an initiative of five healthcare organizations. They owned Quli BV together with NextGen Ventures BV and Ordina Nederland BV. I am grateful for all the support over the years. At the same time, I look forward to the next phase of Quli in which we, with Health Cloud Initiative as the sole shareholder, continue to pursue and realize our ambitions with the same momentum.”

Health Cloud Initiative: Provider of healthcare software
Health Cloud Initiative provides healthcare software in a wide range of healthcare disciplines. With its software solutions, HCI wants to provide maximum relief to healthcare providers and optimally facilitate patient contact.

The platform does this by applying best practices across healthcare fields and integrating eHealth and patient portal solutions.

CI has positions in independent mental health care, rehabilitation care, and various paramedical fields, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, and physiotherapy, with labels such as Incura, FysioRoadmap, Evry, FootFit, CRS GGZ software, and paraNICE. More than 21,000 healthcare providers currently work with Health Cloud Initiative products every day.

Marc Prette, CEO of Health Cloud Initiative says “With the arrival of Quli, we are taking an important step in further expanding HCI’s proposition and we can serve healthcare consumers even better. Quli offers a unique service in the triangle of healthcare consumers, loved ones, and healthcare providers. It is an important addition to our consumer proposition together with Uw Zorg Online for many of the segments in which HCI is active, for example, mental health care.” Silicon Canals
