Intricon names D Liebl as chief commercial and technology officer

Joint development manufacturer Intricon today named David Liebl as its first chief commercial and technology officer and promoted Annalee Lutgen to chief financial officer.

Liebl joined Arden Hills, Minnesota-based Intricon in August 2021 as VP of research and development. He previously served as president of Biomerics NLE’s West Operations, EVP of product and business development at Heraeus Medical Components, and president and chief technology officer at NeoMetrics.

“The new role is essential as we enhance our commercial growth strategy,” Intricon CEO and President Scott Longval said in a news release. “Dave’s commercial experience makes him an ideal leader for Intricon’s next phase of growth and development. In Dave’s expanded role, he will be responsible for accelerating our innovation roadmap and expanding our customer relationships.”

Liebl said he’s “looking forward to pursuing opportunities in high-growth markets by advancing our technology and commercial operations to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Lutgen, meanwhile, joined Intricon in 2010 as corporate controller and most recently served as director of finance. She was previously a manager at Grant Thornton.

“Annalee will play a critical role on the leadership team and as CFO during this new stage of accelerated growth,” Longval said. “Annalee knows our business and her proven financial experience in the medical device and high-tech industries is a valuable asset as we continue to expand the company.”

Intricon went private in May after being purchased by New York City-based private equity firm Altaris Capital Partners. Intricon now has more than 900 employees in three offices and six manufacturing sites (four in the U.S. and two in Southeast Asia).

“I’m excited to take the position of CFO during this transformational period of the company,” Lutgen said in the news release. “Intricon has a solid track record and great potential for growth. As a team, we’re committed to further growing the company.”

Intricon designs and manufactures micromedical components, sub-assemblies and final devices for medical device original equipment manufacturers in high-growth markets such as diabetes, peripheral vascular, interventional pulmonology, electrophysiology and hearing. Medical Design & Outsourcing
