Jamshedpur DC flags off mobile medical units

East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav inaugurated five mobile medical units operated by Hans Foundation. On this occasion, she flagged off the mobile units from the Collectorate premises and sent them to the blocks. At present, free medical check-up, treatment and medicines will be provided to people in seven blocks, including Patmada and Bodam, Potka, Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai in Dhalbhum sub-division and Ghatshila in Ghatshila sub-division and Dhalbhumgarh and Gudabanda.

In this medical van, apart from the medical officer, there will be a team of pharmacists, lab technicians and ANMs, who will dispense medicines and examine patients daily. As per need, the team will also refer serious patients to the Sadar Hospital.

Thanking Hans Foundation on this occasion, the DC said the mobile medical units would be very useful in providing health facilities to the people living in remote, inaccessible and hilly areas.

The vehicles will go where people are facing difficulty in coming to PHC/CHC center or where health facilities are not being provided smoothly due to lack of resources. A health center is now coming to your doorstep. Where women had to wait for the ‘VHSND’ day for ANC check-up earlier, the problem will no longer exist as the vehicle has adequate facilities to facilitate thorough check-up, especially for pregnant women, said the DC.

Officials said the TV installed in the vehicle can be used to provide telemedicine services. There is a refrigeration unit which can provide blood to needy patients. In rural areas, it will be like a medical camp, where people will get the facility of testing for different types of diseases at one place. The Avenue Mail
