J&K govt fines 2 hospitals for denying treatment under AB-PMJAY

The two hospitals of Jammu, including the Government Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) have been fined for denying treatment to the patients under the central government’s ambitious Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

The fine was recommended by the District Grievance Redressal Committee for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, during a meeting which was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya.

The SSH, Jammu, and the Bee Enn General Hospital, were found guilty of denying cardiac-surgery, namely Drug Coated Balloon, and neuro-surgery, respectively to the patients.

The patients, who were denied such treatment in these 2 hospitals of Jammu complained to the concerned authorities 3 months back.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Harbaksh Singh said that on the basis of complaints of the patients, the District Grievance Redressal Committee for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana recommended a fine of Rs 1,22,711 as per the laid down guidelines. Rising Kashmir
