Medica Superspecialty Hospital to start oncology services

In a move to provide better Oncology treatment in the State, Bhagwan Mahaveer Medica Superspecialty Hospital of the State Capital is going to start a comprehensive cancer care facility. Now people of the State will get better Oncology treatment in the State.

Addressing press meet on Friday Senior Oncologist working with Medica Hospital Group, Dr Abhay Kumar said that along with the Country, the number of cancer patients in Jharkhand is also increasing day by day and in comparison there is a huge shortage of cancer treatment facilities. “People here usually have to move to metros for treatment of cancer. We are going to start a comprehensive cancer care facility here at Bhagwan Mahaveer Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Ranchi, so that people don’t have to wander for treatment,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion Oncologist working with the group, Gunjesh Kumar Singh said that Medica Hospitals Group is a well-known name in the field of Healthcare in Eastern India. “Over the years, patients are being treated in various multi and super specialty hospitals of Medica Group. Medica’s Cancer Hospitals in Kolkata and Siliguri are providing best treatment and care facilities to the patients. Singh further said that the objective behind starting a comprehensive cancer care facility at Bhagwan Mahaveer Medica Super specialty Hospital is that the group have various diagnostic facilities available including CT Scan, MRI Scan and Oncopathology Unit. “We are foraying into Medica Ranchi with Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology facilities. We will provide chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy for solid cancer as well as blood cancer treatment services in the medical oncology department. Our surgical oncology team will perform surgeries for breast, head and neck, urogenital, gynecological and gastrointestinal cancer malignancies,” he added.
