Muvattupuzha General Hospital Gets a Facelift

The Muvattupuzha General Hospital has added many patient-friendly facilities and has been fully computerized to meet the demands of modern-day healthcare delivery. A statement issued in this regard said that besides OP computerization and ticket token facility, the hospital has provided a facelift to the reception counter with facilities for patients such as drinking water and TV. Token system has been introduced in the pharmacy, laboratory and casualty too. Laboratory equipped with auto analyzer and other new technologies, digital X-ray, ECG and pharmacy facility will be available 24 hours.

An operation theater, a new administrative block, renovated labor room, dialysis unit are among the facilities that would be completed soon. Ultra-sound scanning, MRI scanning and mammogram are among the new services that would be made available soon at the hospital. The hospital serves not just as the tertiary center for the eastern belt of the district, it is also a major hospital for tribal area of Kuttampuzha and the Idukki high ranges. The hospital had a beginning as a dispensary in 1905. While it grew into a hospital soon, and was one of the major taluk hospitals, it was upgraded to general hospital category in 2011. – The Hindu
