Nitish Kumar govt approved Rs 834 cr for health sector

The Nitish government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 838.54 crore for the construction of new buildings and infrastructure development at four medical institutions of traditional medicine and Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH). The sanctioned amount pertains to the financial year 2021-22. In view of the danger of Omicron, it is being considered as a big decision by the Bihar government.

The cabinet approved Rs 257.46 crore for the construction of building and other infrastructure at the Government Ayodhya Shivkumari Ayurved College and Hospital in Begusarai. It has a capacity of 150 students. Similarly, the cabinet also approved Rs 121.01 crore for Rai Bahadur Tunki Sah Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur, which has a seating capacity of 120 students.

Money for many more hospitals
On the other hand, the cabinet approved Rs 195.63 crore for the conduct of construction activities at Maharani Rameshwari Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohanpur, Darbhanga. This will become a 150-bed Ayurvedic hospital. In addition, the cabinet approved Rs 264.44 for the construction of new campus of Tibbi College, Kadamkuan (Patna) and necessary building at Nalanda Medical College Hospital, Agamkuan (Patna).
