Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital inaugurated in Jamshedpur

The governor Ramesh Bais while inaugurating the Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospital in Bistupur on Friday said that hospitals strengthen the foundation of the nation and act as an important pillar of the society.

“Health services are the top priorities of the nation. Lack of adequate financial assistance to this sector is resulting in the death of people,” he said. The government added that in states like Jharkhand where requirement for good medical services is still quite palpable and people are forced to turn to quacks, the establishment of the hospital in Bistupur speaks volumes about the Sathya Sai Seva Trust’s commitment towards service to humanity. “This hospital will offer free medical services to the people and that will benefit all sections of the society,” he added.

The governor also gave away mementoes to three children of the city who had got their heart surgery done at Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospitals in Raipur and Mumbai.

Referring to health services as a critical component of human life, Bais said that owing to changing lifestyles and pollution people need assistance of hospitals. He said, “Medical institutions that could help us take preventive measures to protect ourselves from ailments are most critical in today’s scenario. The mother-child care centre of the Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospital will do just that.”

Showering praises on the Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospital, the governor said that the organization is focused on serving the people and has conducted free heart surgeries of 23,000 children in its various branches across the country. Bais said that he is well aware of the benefits that the Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has offered the local residents there. “The hospital operates independently and does not succumb to any type of pressure tactics. I hope that like the one in Raipur this hospital in Bistupur too will offer quality medical services to the public and conduct heart surgeries,” he added.

Chairman of the Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust Dr P Srinivas said that this is not just a hospital, “It is like a temple dedicated to the service of mankind. In Sanjeevani we serve people and I assure the people of Jharkhand that very soon we will introduce a screening centre for children’s heart ailments.”

Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato who was also present at the event said: “Jharkhand is lagging behind in providing quality health services to the people. This hospital will provide respite to people staying in Jamshedpur and nearby localities. The event was also attended by senior officials of Tata Steel. The Avenue Mail
