Bringing Reliable And Advanced Healthcare In Eastern India

Another promising and eventful year awaits us at Medica as we turn the leaf for another fresh chapter of our group of hospitals. With 365 days in the offing, the hidden opportunities await us in 2019. Medica plans to stretch its arms, identify opportunities, and grab them at the right time, of course, in greater interest of the society. Medica, one of the largest healthcare providers in Eastern India, is growing at a good pace in the region with nine running hospitals in different states. Medica Synergie, today, is a key player and a prominent reference source in healthcare management and consultancy. We began our journey with Medica at North Bengal Clinic (MNBC) in Siliguri in 2008, the Medica Group launched its flagship hospital, Medica Superspecialty Hospital (MSH) in Kolkata in 2010. Soon after Medica Cancer Hospital in Rangapani, Siliguri fulfilled the dire need of a comprehensive cancer facility in North Bengal, and the trust hospital R.C. Agarwal Memorial run by Medica in Tinsukia brought quality multispecialty healthcare to Assam. We have also started Medica Magadh Hospital in Patna. The specialty of Medica is the cutting edge that we bring to the masses.

We are the fastest growing healthcare chain in eastern India, with hospitals in West and North Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Odisha, and Bihar. Unarguably, we are the biggest player in eastern India. We would like to take the best of healthcare to tier-II and tier-III cities. We are planning to expand to places like Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, cities of Uttar Pradesh, among others. Soon, even tier-III cities will have good hospitals as demand rises there. Setting up a good private hospital in a smaller city is not easy at all and has its own challenges. Therefore, presently, we would like to grow mostly through strategic brownfield acquisition. We are on constant lookout for such opportunities. Like all other fields, information technology is intruding into the healthcare segment as well. AI and data analytics are bringing greater opportunities for the sector, offering faster, more effective treatment options that have wider affordability and acceptability.

Being ethical and on top of technology is the way forward in the healthcare segment. Hence the combination of technology and hospitality will save the day for future healthcare providers’ any day, anytime. The key players should think of improving or rather upgrading communications with the patients and the medical community as a whole by maintaining accuracy and efficiency in providing affordable timely services to the patients and their families. Going forward, players need to be innovative in their approach as the society in this era perceives health and wellness in a different way as compared to what it was a few decades ago. Earlier healthcare was solely limited to treatment of diseases with very little or no attention paid to prevention of illness. The mindset toward particular care of health is thankfully changing with various organizations focusing more on wellness. The healthcare institutions are expected to play a major role in this regard and side by side, they need to find the perfect balance between best clinical treatment, quality care, and excellence in individual patient experience.

Individual care of concerned patients is the key to healthcare delivery. We at Medica are constantly looking forward to integrating skill, technology, and empathic approach in best interests of the society. Let’s not forget that all these must be aligned with affordability. This is going to be the biggest challenge but not an impossible task either. And definitely, one has to adopt a balanced perspective to look into healthcare from a welfare point of view, providing updated medical services in the greatest good of the greatest number. Last but not the least, the changing needs of healthcare is a common feature in the Indian sub-continent and Medica also appreciates the demands of all the complexities of the healthcare domain along with feasible solutions to such.
