Rainbow Hospitals is an Indian chain of pediatric hospitals headquartered in Hyderabad, India. Founded by Dr Ramesh Kancharla on November 14, 1999 on Children’s Day, the hospital’s main focus is pediatric and maternal healthcare services. The Rainbow Hospital Group currently operates out of eight locations; four in Hyderabad, one in Vijayawada, two in Bengaluru, and one in Delhi. The group is in the process of setting up two more hospitals, one each in Vizag (Visakhapatnam) and Chennai. The hospital has 18 years of excellence in child care, women care, and fertility. Rainbow Hospitals aims to provide high standards of care for the mother, women, fetus, newborn, and children so that none of them is deprived of a tertiary care facility. Today Rainbow has a bed strength of over 1000, which is perhaps the largest children hospital group in the country and would be very soon emerging as the largest in Asia-Pacific.
Rainbow Children’s Hospital is going to take the following initiatives for the coming year.
Pediatrics super specialty clinics. The pediatric and adolescent diabetes center is the first of its kind in the state that offers the latest modalities of treatment for children with diabetes including insulin pump, continuous blood glucose monitoring, intensive insulin regimen with carbohydrate counting. In care of children and teens with complex health issues Rainbow Children’s Hospital has the advantage because of having all pediatric super specialty services under one roof. This enables a multidisciplinary approach to complicated pediatric problems.
Rainbow Advanced Institute of Neurosciences (RAIN). We at RAIN are a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work to maximize the child’s growing brains potential and minimize neurodisability in conditions that affect the brain’s growth in a child. Our team consists of pediatric neurologists, developmental pediatrician, child psychiatrist, child psychologist, pediatric neurology nurse specialist, physiotherapist and early interventionist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, audiologist, pediatric neurosurgeon, pediatric orthopedic team, dietician, gastroenterologist, and neurophysiologist. Our comprehensive child development center (CDC) is part of this team effort.
Launch of a new hospital in Bangalore. Rainbow Children’s Hospital is going to start a new unit in North Bangalore this year. It will be providing pediatric, maternity, and fertility services. The pediatric super specialty services will also be available in this branch.
NICU retrieval services. About 70 percent of the neonatal deaths occur in the first week of life with more than half of that in the first day itself. All over the world, one in 10 babies is born preterm. These babies can be born with illnesses like birth defects or with brain deprived of oxygen and blood supply or catch life-threatening infections. These babies can be treated only in advanced centers. But the transport of such babies is very important as they may require lifesaving treatment in the ambulance during transport. Rainbow Children’s Hospital has started NICU Retrieval Services wherein the hospital provides a well-run road transport with advanced equipment and trained personnel on board following a strict clinical protocol.
Outreach super specialty clinics. The hospital has started few outreach clinics in the far-flung areas of Karnataka. The hospital has started an outreach clinic in Dharwad, Shimoga, and Mandya districts. In Dharwad, we are providing endocrinology, orthopedic, nephrology, and oncology services on subsidized rates. In Shimoga and Mandya districts, the endocrinology services are provided.
New upcoming mother and child clinic. Rainbow Children’s Hospital is going to start a clinic in Kanakpura Road in Bangalore where it will provide pediatric and gynecology services.
Well women clinic. The hospital has started corporate clinics wherein the gynecology and obstetrics services are being provided to the females working in corporates including Amazon, TCS, and Samsung etc.
