STEP Ahead Award For Excellence In Manufacturing

This award goes to the best women at all levels of the manufacturing industry – from the factory floor to the top executive floor.

“We are very proud that for the seventh time in a row women have been honored by AGCO with one of the annual STEP Ahead Awards. Jane Song, our winner of the year 2019, is doing very well at AGCO and in their community on a daily basis, “said Lucinda Smith, senior vice president of AGCO’s Global Business Services. “Jane’s recognition through the STEP Ahead Program highlights the great importance of TRAIT, AGCO’s Diversity and Inclusion Program.”

Jane is a remarkable woman whose career has been an inspiration to the entire AGCO Power team, as women rarely play leadership roles in China in this industry. She is also committed to ensuring that her employees receive the necessary training to be successful in their respective roles. Under her leadership, more than 90% of employees have the necessary skills to work in three workplaces. Their employees are happy to contribute ideas to streamline the workflow, and with their support, the LEAN Manufacturing 6S results at the Changzhou site are outstanding.

“As a production manager, I have to work closely with my colleagues to get the best possible results. I’ve learned a lot from work and from people, and I enjoy that, “commented Jane.

Jane also likes to be grateful to her community. At various occasions, she has been eager to use her organizational and leadership skills to help seniors and mentally handicapped children.

TRAIT, AGCO’s Diversity and Inclusion Program, is based on our core values of Team Spirit, Respect, Accountability, Integrity and Transparency. AGCO Global Women’s Network, an integral part of TRAIT, is a professional advisory group whose mission is to develop, promote and advocate women’s leadership positions for greater profitability, collaboration and a diverse culture across AGCO.

The STEP Ahead Awards – part of the broader STEP Ahead initiative – have been introduced to explore the role of women in the manufacturing industry and promote recognition, research and leadership roles to attract, nurture and sustain female talent.

“Women represent the single largest group of potentially untapped talent within the manufacturing industry, and we must continue to do everything we can to promote gender diversity in this area,” said Keira Lombardo, STEP Ahead Chair and Smithfield Foods Executive Vice President Corporate Affairs. “The STEP Ahead Awards program not only pays tribute to those incredible women in production who have an impact on the daily lives of people around the world, it also delivers a tremendously strong message to the upcoming generation of female executives, namely that the manufacturing industry is cutting edge and innovative fulfilling careers where women can prosper. ”

“AGCO is very proud that Jane Song has received this recognition,” commented Lucinda Smith. And not only Jane was awarded. In the recent past, several AGCO facilities, departments and employees have also been recognized for their significant achievements and contributions to the industry. Examples of these recognitions include: China Automotive Logistics Innovation Award of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (China) – Bronze as Best Workplace for Women by Association for Women`s Career Development Hungary (Hungary) – Diversity & Inclusion of World HRD Congress – Best Place to Work in Brazil by Love Mondays / Glassdoor – Manufacturing Leadership Award from National Association of Manufacturers.  – Business Wire
