WHO, EMA set to inspect Sputnik facility in May
Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will inspect Russia’s Sputnik V production facility ahead of granting a potential Emergency Use Listing (EUL) and conditional marketing authorization, respectively.
The on-site inspections assessing the Gamaleya Research Institute, which manufactures Sputnik V, are set to begin May 10 and will continue until the first week of June, the WHO said.
The WHO will also begin reviewing Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for a possible EUL. That review is expected to begin this week. FDA News
