Zydus Wellness calls for media review worth Rs 200 crore

Consumer healthcare firm Zydus Wellness has called for a consolidated media review for all its brands, including the newly-acquired Heinz. As per industry sources, the move aims at having a single agency to manage both portfolios. The incumbent agency for Zydus is Wavemaker whereas Heinz is currently with Starcom.

“Ever since Zydus Wellness bought Heinz, it has to manage work with two different agencies. Therefore it called for a pitch for consolidation of business to one agency some weeks ago,” said a senior industry person.

All stakeholders were contacted by exchange4media for comments but did not respond until the filing of this story.

In January 2019, Zydus Wellness had announced to complete its Rs 4,595-crore acquisition of Heinz India’s consumer wellness business, which included popular brands Complan and Glucon D. The acquisition was announced on October 24 last year when the company entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Heinz India’s business comprising Complan, Glucon D, Nycil and Sampriti Ghee brands along with its two large manufacturing facilities. – Exchange4Media
