₹1.5 Crore for Rajindra Hospital Revamp

Patiala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kumar Amit and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira, on Wednesday, visited Government Rajindra College and Hospital to review the conditions. They held a meeting with the College Principal Dr BS Sidhu and Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr BS Brar. The DC said various development works including cleanliness and revamp of washrooms, creation of parking spaces, shifting of underpass on the college and hospital premises would be done with a grant of ₹1.50 crores allocated by Chief Minister’s office.

The DC suggested the MC Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira green belts should be created on the roads outside the college and on the hospital premises. He also directed unauthorized encroachments outside the hospital should also be removed at the earliest. The DC discussed the issue of parking space with the MC Commissioner and college principal. He said: “Separate parking spaces for the staff, visitors, doctors and nurses should be created on the hospital premises. We will also construct a multilevel parking in the hospital to accommodate more vehicles.” The DC directed the parking contractor to put up a board mentioning parking fees on the hospital premises. – Tribune India
