4263 More Beds in Government Hospitals Soon: Laxma Reddy

C Laxma Reddy, Minister for Health announced that the government proposes to provide 4263 additional beds in public hospitals in of Telangana. A total of 25,251 beds already existed in government hospitals. As many as 7850 beds were in hospitals under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP), 9089 beds under the DME, 5648 under the Directorate of Public health and Family Welfare, 1460 in NIMS, 754 under Ayush, and 450 in MNJ Hospital.

In 2018-19 the government proposes to set up 300-bed hospitals in all the new district headquarters. Besides four new wellness centers, 39 maternal and child health centers, and 44 dialysis centers were added to the existing health facilities. Projects costing Rs. 932 crore pertaining to new health centers and upgradation of existing ones are in progress. The district cancer care centers will be set up soon in Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, Siddipet, and Adilabad.
