The AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar announced the launching of the first-of-its-kind advanced trauma center in its premises. The announcement of the launch was made at a special program in the presence of DGP Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty, AMRI Hospitals PV and unit head CLN Reddy, AVP (Medical Administration) Dr Chirantan Bose and Dr Sajid Nomani. Road traffic accidents have become a ‘modern day epidemic’ in the country. India accounts for one-fifth of global deaths due to road accidents. In Odisha alone, there were more than 4463 deaths in 2016 which was an alarming three percent increase over the previous year.  “Keeping in view the growing number of trauma victims and its long-lasting consequences on the victim, family, community and the State as a whole, the AMRI Hospital Bhubaneswar launched its own Advanced Trauma Center to provide multi-specialty approach to trauma victims and fight towards decreasing the rate of mortality and disability of the victims,” said Reddy. There would be a direct hotline number (0674-6666666) for round-the-clock functional of the emergency department, he said. – Daily Pioneer
