An Untold Story

Way back in 1970, P Vasudevan, like many educated Keralites, opted to go to Germany to the world of advanced technology. Having spent 10 years there learning new technologies and imbibing product development skills, he decided to return home and set up Dynamic Techno Medicals in Aluva, Cochin, Kerala.

He developed indigenous artificial limbs matching international quality with which he was familiar during his stint in Germany. Very soon the numbers increased and he established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. And this is where the journey of Dynamic begun. Today after four decades, the group boasts of five group companies, 10 factories, 400+ products, 1650 employees, 2000+ distributors, and 27 regional service depots. The group has pan-India presence in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics across the country. Products are in compliance with international quality certifications and are exported to over 45 countries.

Dynamic has fully automated manufacturing facilities spread across 200,000 sq.ft, in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Most of the machinery is sourced from Germany, Japan, and USA. A strong internal R&D team has continuously delivered new products, widening the portfolio to over 400 items.

The journey was not without challenges. An early start-up first generation business venture, Vasudevan was fortunate to have professionals on board from the beginning who helped steer it to the large group it is today.

2007 brought fresh life to the group. Sreekumar Menon, an alumnus of IIT-Kharagpur and IIM–Calcutta, after a long stint with Morgan Stanley in New York, took over the reins as joint managing director. Sreekumar brought with him the much needed professionalism in systems and procedures of the group. His exposure to international business environment, especially the US market tremendously supported Dynamic to establish itself as a premium brand, not only in the domestic market, but in the international market as well.

The company has a strong product pipeline, which is expected to ensure continuous growth over the next decade. This has been possible with its panel of medical experts, led by Dr Dileep Menon (MBBS-JIPMER, MD-USA, and DM- Interventional Cardiology-USA).

Dynamic has recently announced a strategic alliance with OSI Systems Pvt. Ltd. India to market the medical products of OSI Systems Pvt. Ltd.’s affiliate, Spacelabs Healthcare. A leading global provider in patient monitoring, anesthesia delivery, and diagnostic cardiology systems, Spacelabs Healthcare is a wholly owned subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc.
