ICMR gives permission for the GMCs lab to find the monkeypox virus
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has granted the Amritsar Government Medical College (GMC) the capability to detect the virus in the face of the imminent danger of monkeypox. As part of the government’s readiness to deal with the imminent threat of monkeypox, Medical Superintendent (MS) Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Dr K D Singh announced that ICMR had licensed 15 laboratories across the country, one of which was the GMCs laboratory. He said that they had the equipment needed to detect the virus and had placed an order for some of its components, including some reagents, etc., which would be delivered within a few days.
