Masina Hospital launches its stand-alone dialysis centre

Masina Hospital, as part of its continuous efforts to upgrade the quality of healthcare facilities for its valued patients, is launching a new upgraded dialysis facility within the hospital premises. The inauguration was conducted in the esteemed presence of Mr. Pallan Shapoorji Mistry, Dr. Burjor H. Antia, Mr. Jimmy Jehangir Parakh along with Dr Vispi Jokhi – CEO, Mr Behram Khodaiji – Joint CEO, Dr. S. N. Mehra – Medical Director, Dr Gustad Daver – Advisory Board, Masina Hospital alongside senior doctors of the hospital.

At the facility, one can provide dialysis to 14 patients at a given time. Separate provision is made to attend to Sero Positive patients, so that others are well protected from any infection. One private room is also provided for those seeking privacy. This entire facility will now be managed directly by Masina Hospital’s own qualified team specially selected for competence and quality of services. The facility is compliant with the requisite AAMI (Assn. for advanced medical instrumentation), ISO and NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospital & Healthcare Providers) norms and is equipped with new modern equipment procured from well-established suppliers, with special attention for provision of technology superior Automatic Reverse Osmosis Plant.

Reverse osmosis plant is at the heart of any dialysis unit. The quality of dialysis is directly related to the purity of water available for the same. The availability of advanced SLED dialysis for critical patients, Plasmapheresis, CRRT machines along with ICCU dialysis complete the centre in every way. This is a stepping stone to create a complete program of care of patients with chronic kidney disease from basic treatment to renal transplant program.

Dr Vispi Jokhi, CEO, Masina Hospital said, “The need for the Renal Dialysis Centre with providing an economical range of services has escalated as the population of kidney disease patients is growing at an alarming rate in the city. The patient is expected to undergo Dialysis 2-3 times a week, however, it is an expensive procedure that the underprivileged cannot afford. The generous donations from Shapoorji Pallonji Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (A Shapoorji Pallonji Group Company) has enabled Masina Hospital to set up this modern dialysis facility for its patients. While the making of this unit has been a major team effort, Dr Gustad Daver who head of Advisory Board at Masina Hospital has played a pivotal role in planning and designing the unit. APN News
