In a notification, AIIMS Bhubaneswar officials said that the decision to restart the walk-in-OPD has been taken after taking into account the drop in Covid-19 cases.

Apart from this, requests from different quarters were also pouring in for resumption of the service at the AIIMS. As per the notification, all departments will follow the OPD schedule. Besides, each department at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have been asked to reserve 4 to 5 beds for the new admission cases (suspect).

However, the patients’ overall routine check-ups will continue over the AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya App and Telemedicine.

“All the IPD admissions and OTs will function as before (pre-Covid era). The Covid labour room will continue to run for a week,” AIIMS notification read.

It is pertinent to mention here that the the hospital authorities had decided to stop walk-in OPD services at all specialities and super-specialities departments in the hospital temporarily from January 17 after several faculties, staff and students of the institution were found infected with Covid-19.
