EPS, RFS conducted first time by Wellmark Hospital

Wellmark Hospital Bokaro recently accredited under NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) based on the quality healthcare and patient safety services. Multi-specialty tertiary care Wellmark hospital, centrally located at Bokaro Steel City Naya mod day by day excelling new heights in terms of setting up higher medical standards. In the same series for the first time in Bokaro, Cardiac Electro-Physiological Study (EPS) and Radio-Frequency Ablation (RFA) was done at Wellmark Hospital Heart Centre. Dr Kush Kumar Bhagat, Sr Electrophysiologist who was invited as guest faculty in the workshop on 27-28 August from Eternal Hospital, Jaipur, who is also a proctor for Medtronic, performed the procedure upon a patient suffering from a heart condition called PSVT. This disease causes an abrupt increase of heart rate to around 200 per minute, thus causing much discomfort to the patients, sometimes even fainting. Thus by this therapy almost cures the disorder. Dr Kush Bhagat also performed two ‘physiological’ pacemaker Implantations (Left Bundle Branch Pacing) to patients suffering from Heart Block along with Heart Pump failure. This advanced method is much superior to the conventional methods of RV Apical pacing, which has many drawbacks for such patients.

It is noteworthy that Dr Satish Kumar, Chairman Wellmark Hospital, Bokaro who is also the President of Cardiological society of India, Jharkhand Chapter (CSI Jharkhand), Dr Prattay Guha Sarkar, Professor of Cardiology at RIMS RMCH Ranchi and Secretary of CSI Jharkhand, Dr Ashutosh Kumar, Sr Interventional Cardiologist and Dr Anupam Kumar Singh, Director, Wellmark Cardiology (Heart Centre) also actively participated in this one day workshop. Notably Dr Kush has also consented to visit similar workshops each month on 4th Sunday at Bokaro Steel City. Also recently OPD service started in Wellmark by Paras HEC Hospital Ranchi to provide high quality medical facilities to the people of Bokaro. Thus all these development lead by Chairman Dr Satish and his team assumes importance because Wellmark Hospital is among few Hospitals in state where treatment of almost all critical diseases started getting done day by day at advanced level for the benefits of peoples who were supposed to visit other states for this level of treatments and has face lots of difficulties.
